The project sits in New Mexico's Grants Mineral Belt, the largest uranium area in the United States, where mines historically produced over 119,000 tons of uranium oxide, roughly 40% of total U.S. production. New Mexico ranks second nationally in uranium reserves, and around 409 million pounds of identified uranium resources remain in the Grants district that were drilled but never mined.

Mesa Top historically produced approximately 108,261 tons of ore between 1954 and 1968, yielding an estimated 571,000 lbs of U₃O₈. Operated as an underground mine, Mesa Top sits within a dense cluster of past-producing uranium workings — a district with a deep, proven production record.

Mineralization occurs within the Poison Canyon Sandstone of the Morrison Formation, the principal uranium host across the Grants Mineral Belt. These sediment-hosted systems form tabular and redistributed "trend" ore bodies and are prospective for uranium, vanadium, and molybdenum.

The Colorado Plateau is estimated to contain over 1.2 billion pounds of mined and in-situ U₃O₈, anchoring one of the richest uranium regions on Earth. A recent assessment estimated roughly 4.4 billion pounds of total U₃O₈ endowment in the Westwater Canyon Member of the Morrison Formation — the belt's main host rock (Hall et al., 2023).

The property is road-accessible on BLM land, with direct proximity to major state highways and established district infrastructure. Located in a region with a long mining history, the project offers practical logistical advantages for future exploration and development programs.
